I started this blog while living in Portland, Oregon. I had learned how to crochet hats and found the process creative and meditative. One sunny afternoon while crocheting in a park downtown, a kid on a skateboard asked me, “Is that one of your passions?” His comment made me realize that I wanted promote that idea. I decided to start this blog to explore creative passions. For me, its all about color, shape and texture.

"She dreamed a dream..."
"She dreamed a dream.
Live your dreams.
Pass it on."
Yet, another rainy day in Portland...While driving home from work, I was waiting at red light. I looked up and saw these words on huge billboard with a picture of the singer, Susan Boyle. It made me smile. Forget shopping, dream your dream!

Hat tree at Working Class Acupuncture - Hillsdale, Oregon
I made a tree to display my hats in the lobby at Working Class Acupuncture where I work. One of my patients who purchased one brought a picture of her grandfather wearing it. Grandpa says," A warm head is a happy head". Everyone keeps asking me if he is my grandpa. Unfortunately, he's not.

Acupuncture Mehndi
A patient let me photograph her "slightly faded" henna tattoo before I took out her needles. Nothing to do with with either hats or crochet; I just happened to have my camera with me and loved the image.

When art and medicine collide...
I was treating a patient for knee pain; <bone on bone> degeneration. We were talking, I was inserting needles....when all of a sudden I realized that I created a lotus flower pattern around her knee-cap. It occurred to suggest to her that she do her own visualization of a lotus flower super-imposed in her knee-cap while resting. I got confirmation when she said earlier that day her partner suggested she should surround herself with beautiful things. More importantly, her knee felt less stiff after the treatment.
